Heres a real treat for the genealogy world. Arlene H. Eakle is now writing a weekly blog. You can find her blog at http://www.arleneeakle.com/wordpress/. You can receive her blog on RSS feed or go to http://www.rssfwd.com/ and paste in the address http://www.arleneeakle.com/wordpress/ and you will automatically get blog updates in your email box. (Pretty cool feature I need to use for my other RSS Feeds.)

Her first article 31 July 2006 was titled: "The DaVinci Code and your Genealogy: Multiple Streams of Evidence". It made for a very fascinating read and tells of her research in that area before all "The DaVinci Code" book's information has come out. You just have to read it!

Her second article that came out 7 August 2006, is "Indexing the World: FamilySearch (R) Retooled, Scanstone (R), and Searchable Maps". I learned something new about the LDS Church's plans for Searchable Maps, didn't know that before. I guess I did have a hint about it wow, over a year ago from Geoff Rasmussen from Legacy Family Tree. I know Legacy is working with the church on fixing their localities historically. I think that info kind of went in one ear and out the other. The Church has so many irons in the fire it's hard to keep track of everything thats going on.

I guess about now your saying, "That's great Renee, but who is Arlene Eakle?" I will respond by saying "I guess you don't get to many very large genealogy conferences do you?" Whenever I go to a conference and she is speaking I just have to go to her class. She is a walking encyclopedia of genealogy knowledge. If I remember right she has a 99% success rate in solving other people's brick walls. I did write an earlier article on her Genealogy Library Center she was opening. It was my 19 March 2006 article "Who wants Grandpa's Papers" Arlene H. Eakle, Ph.D. is the president and founder of The Genealogical Institute, Inc. and a professional genealogist since 1962. You will find her bio a fascinating read at http://arleneeakle.com/pages/bio.shtml. I look forward to her coming blog articles and getting gems of knowledge from her incredible brain.

See ya tomorrow, for tomorrow is always another genealogy day!
