I haven't been writing on my blog lately as you can tell. I have a very good reason, my daughter Marie is leaving on the 2nd of August for her mission (Independence, Missouri). We have spent all this time doing final shopping for things that she needs. Our biggest problem was suit coats with matching skirts. We had the suit coats but couldn't find enough skirts to match with everything. Finally it was decided that we needed to sew some skirts. So, last week I sewed five skirts to round out her collection. I spent more time looking for the skirts that I didn't find, then I did actually making the skirts. At least this portion is over.

You know me I always start new projects and this time it's finishing unpacking my house. I have to get those 20 boxes of stuff outside quickly unpacked and put where they belong. Why? Well I decided to have a small "Open House" so people can come see my new home and wish Marie well on her mission. We are told not to have Missionary Farewells anymore but we are breaking the rules a bit. Kind of killing two birds with one stone. Just telling the masses to come over see the new digs and get a farewell in there too. It should be fun. If I wasn't having to get all this unpacking done and finding places to put stuff.

Oh, I didn't tell you this lovely news, my washing machine gave up the ghost. I decided to buy a new one instead of having someone try to fix it, it's old enough. Well this makes things even more interesting to have to go to the laundromat. I can't believe they want $2.50 to just wash a load. That is highway robbery! For what I paid for the new washing machine it will pay for it's self in 160 loads - thats about 3 or 4 months around here. My new machine doesn't come until August 1st. Sure glad I have the room for a washing machine and don't have to use the laundromat all the time.

What about my genealogy you ask? Well I have been warding off withdrawal symptoms by writing those personal histories for Marie's four generations. She needs it for her mission. My husband finally today just gave me his and I have to type it up and then get just a few more together on his side of the family and then we are all done. I think, who knows what the last minute will bring. Exciting times.

Who knows if I will see you tomorrow, but tomorrow is always another genealogy day!
