On the off hand chance that you might find something useful there - (not sure how much genealogy you will find) Project Gutenberg and World eBook Library are sponsoring the World eBook Fair. You can download any ebook for free until August 4, 2006. This is in celebration of Project Gutenberg's 35th Birthday. There is a total of 100 languages represented in their library of 1/3 million ebooks.

World eBook Fair has eBooks on nearly every classic author on a variety of subjects previously only available through the largest library collections in the world. Now these books are yours for personal use, free of charge, to keep for the rest of your lives.

This event is brought to you by the oldest and largest free eBook source on the Internet, Project Gutenberg, with the assistance of the World eBook Library, the providers of the largest collection, and a number of other eBook efforts around the world. The World eBook Library normally charges $8.95 per year for online access, and allows unlimited personal downloading. During the World eBook Fair all these books are available free of charge through a gateway at http://gutenberg.org and http://WorldeBookFair.com

This is now I used the site: I simply typed in Benjamin Franklin in the search box. I then clicked on the link it pulled up for his autobiography, which comes up as a PDF in Acrobat Reader. While viewing the PDF I clicked on the "Save A Copy" button and it downloaded a copy to my computer. It was all very simple and painless to obtain a nice copy of this book I have always meant to read. Now if I could just find the time to read everything I want to!

See ya tomorrow, for tomorrow is always another genealogy day!
